Prenatal Consultation — Cost: $100
Prenatal consultations last 45 minutes and are held with you in your home, by phone, or over a video call. This initial session can cover any prenatal concerns or issues you might want to discuss with a lactation consultant, including:
- Preparing you for your breastfeeding journey ahead
- ANY of your questions about lactation, milk supply or postpartum latching
- Fears you may have about the process ahead
- Potential difficulties you have encountered in previous breastfeeding experiences
- Medical history
Initial In-Home Postpartum Consultation — Cost: $150
Post-partum consultations last up to 1.5 hours and are dedicated exclusively to you and your baby. I meet you in your home for the comfort of you and your baby, meeting you where you breastfeed most often. No need to get out of your pajamas or clean up.
These visits can take many forms, but they often include:
- Feeding observations
- Latching assistance
- Infant weight check with feeding
- Milk supply assessment and assistance with low milk supply
- Complete review of medical history for you and your baby
- Developing a care plan for your feeding journey, to meet your goals
- Answering questions, easing fears, discussing challenges
Phone/Virtual Consultation — Cost: $50 for 45 minutes; $100 for 1 hour
Phone/virtual consultations can be booked for 45 minute or 1 hour sessions. They are held with you either by phone or over a video call.
These sessions can take many forms, but they often include:
- Feeding observations
- Latching assistance
- Complete review of medical history for you and your baby
- Developing a care plan for your feeding journey, to meet your goals
- Answering questions, easing fears, discussing challenges
Follow-up home visit — Cost: $125
A one-hour follow-up session can be valuable for established clients. Follow-up visits help you:
- Evaluate and adjust your plan to make progress towards breastfeeding goals
- Establish a plan for maintaining milk supply when returning to work
Pumping Session — Cost: $50
Breast pumps can be confusing. Let me show you how to make the most out of your pump. In this 30 minute consultation, I will observe you pump and can show you:
- Best practices for using most personal breast pumps
- How to maximize pumping success
- The right flange fit for you
- Your transition to work or time away
A Note on Insurance
At this time, I do not accept insurance of any kind. Please contact your insurance company about reimbursement for lactation consulting. A Superbill can be provided to you for reimbursement.
Payment, in the form of cash, check, or credit card, is due at the time of service.
Travel
My primary location is in Brevard, North Carolina. In-home consultations outside of Transylvania County are subject to a small travel fee. Please reach out to me to discuss this if you have questions or concerns.
