Why Choose an IBCLC

Private lactation consulting can seem like it comes with a high cost. But when I come to your home, it’s a long-term investment.

What I do as an IBCLC

IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, which means I have been trained and certified in the most current breastfeeding practices by the world’s most trusted source for standards in lactation consultation.

As an IBCLC, I bring:

  • Support for the needs of mothers and children to meet breastfeeding goals
  • Evidence-based practices to breastfeeding and lactation
  • Experience helping mothers to breastfeed in a variety of circumstances, even difficult or high-risk situations
  • Up-to-date, ethical practices that are demonstrated through rigorous standards and re-certifications

Benefits of choosing an IBCLC

I recognize that the pricing on my Investment page might seem like a lot, especially for what can seem like a short amount of time. Trust me, I get it. I’ve been there before.

Choosing to work together goes so much further than a consultation or a check-in. Here’s what a session with me means:

  • I come to you! No need to pack up your newborn, navigate traffic, find a parking space, or even get out of your pajamas!
  • We work together to design an individualized plan for you, your newborn, and your family’s needs
  • Before we meet, I’ll review your medical history to know the full story and help us work together to troubleshoot and provide encouragement
  • I’m available for continued support with support groups and follow-up conversations

When we work together, the benefits are truly long-lasting! When you invest in consultations with an IBCLC, you are also investing in a strong, positive, and nurturing relationship with your child.

Supporting your breastfeeding now is also a long-term investment in the health of you and your child. Seriously. It’s science!
